"There's nothing like deep breaths after laughing that hard. Nothing in the world like a sore stomach for the right reasons." (page 159)
- This is a great example of when Charlie is finally letting go of his past, and moving on. He's finally coming out of his comfort zone and letting go of everything that has been lying on his shoulders throughout the book.
“Thing change. And friends leave. And life doesn't stop for anybody.” (page 145)
- This quote is describing how as you grow older and time goes by, that things change in people, and people leave and that it's just a part of life. No matter who you are, or what you have been through. Life is just going to keep going on and on even if you like it or not.
“I would die for you, but I won’t live for you.” (page 169)
- In the book, Charlie describes the quote as and idea that "every person has to live for his or her own life and then make the choice to share it with other people. Maybe that is what makes people "Participate."" I believe that Charlie has a good point. I also believe that the quote is trying to portray that someone might be willing to risk their life for someone, but they're not willing to go on and live their life without that person.
