“No more pencils, no more books, no more teachers' dirty looks, when the teacher rings the bell, drop your books and run like hell.” (page 183)
- I find this quote very cute and delightful, even though the quote doesn't come across very delightful. I find it delightful because it reminds me of when I was in elementary school and how I couldn't wait for school to be over. This still even happens now. I also find it cute because in the book, Charlie says that they didn't want the teachers to hear their chant because it has the word "hell" in it, which to them was very bad to say because it was a swear word.
“I am very interested and fascinated how everyone loves each other, but no one really likes each other.” (page 56)
- This quote is confusing to me because "love" is a lot stronger than "like", and usually you need to like somebody first before you begin to fully love them. But it also sorta makes sense because to "like" somebody you have to get to know them first, and with love, you can sometimes automatically love them. Like in the phrase "Love at first sight."
"This moment will just be another story someday. " (page 53)
- This quote takes place when Charlie is talking about how everyone looks happier in pictures when they were younger, and in the "Glory days" of their life. Charlie believes that the days he's in now are his glory days. And that when he's older, his kids might look back at his high school pictures and seem him a lot happier, like how he see's his dad's old pictures. This quote also makes me want to live life to its fullest, because these days are my glory days that I will never get back.
