"If somebody likes me, I want them to like the real me, not what they think I am. And I don’t want them to carry it around inside. I want them to show me, so I can feel it too. I want them to be able to do whatever they want around me." (page 201)
- In this quote, Sam is telling Charlie that he needs to stop hiding his love for her and needs to express it, if he actually love her. This quote reminds me of the quote "I just think it's bad when a boy looks at a girl and thinks that the way he sees her is better than she actually is." (page 48) These two quotes are very similar in the fact that they are both taking about how a guy shouldn't like or see a girl for who they really aren't.
"It was a hopeful kind of sad. The kind of sad that just takes time." (page 197-198)
-I believe this quote is saying that it is the kind of sad that you don’t want to except right away because you feel as if the sadness doesn't exist. So you just try and believe what you want to, but then eventually you feel it later on when you realize that the sadness is actually present.
"Even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there." (page 211)
- This quote is very empowering and inspiring. I agree with this quote because even if it's hard for someone to let go of the past, if they are dedicated and brave they can let go of it and move on... no matter how hard it is.
